Hi there
I would like to introduce myself as someone interested in elearning, the development of the mobile device and the future of mobile learning. I have also read about Mobile Community Design, and would appreciate your expertise and knowledge in this area.
I am currently in my final semester at RMIT University, Melbourne, undertaking a masters in Virtual Communication. As a final stage research project, I am undertaking research on mobile learning and the mobile user experience within the education sector.
As part of my research I would be very grateful if you (or any colleagues who are mobile content developers) would participate in an online questionnaire regarding your (or your company's) involvement in the interface design and the user experience for the mobile platform. Your responses would be used only for the purpose of research into this area.
The online questionnaire will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
It can be accessed at the following URL:
www.keysurvey.com/survey/81175/1104/
The questionnaire will be available online until 28 October 12.00 PM EST. If you have any questions regarding the research or this survey, or wish to view the results of the research, please don't hesitate to contact me via the email address below.
Thank you in advance for your participation!

Re: Mobile content development questionnaire
Thu, October 20, 2005 - 5:32 AMHi Ruth,
we have previously ventured into the realm of mobile education with research and an implementation of a m-education prototype system (education = learning + teaching + administration). The prototype was based on WAP/WML and extended an existing e-learning solution at our university. It was later evaluated in a field test with students using a Palm PDA and WLAN connectivity.
Usability for wireless devices is certainly an important factor for mobile learning, in the context of public education (schools, universities), however, the costs involved are much more important to all users. Both students and educational institutions act on a limited budget, and the immediate benefits of mobile learning are not always apparent.
But there are definetely ways to create efficient and low-cost educational systems/content :)
I'd be happy to share and discuss any expertise, and of course I'd be thankful if you could let me have a glimpse at the results of your survey ;)
